Welcome!

Our Mission:

Founded by Lauren DePaola, LCSW in 2015 after organizing stakeholders within Alachua County; a dedicated group set out to improve awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD) in Alachua County.  To expand resources, education and support systems for those at risk for PMAD in our community and provide professional development resources to increase provider screening and referral.

Our Vision:

All childbearing women and men in Alachua County, FL will receive information about perinatal mental illnesses and have access to help.  Alachua County providers working with perinatal women and men will be knowledgeable of perinatal mental illness and where to connect parents for care and support.

Did you know?

Perinatal mood disorders take place at a time when the infant is maximally dependent on parental care and highly sensitive to the quality of the interactions.

Through the ACPMHC, Alachua County leads Florida in studying maternal mental health.
