October is recognized as Pregnancy & Infant Loss Month.  It was initially reserved for this purpose in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.  The remembrance day is set aside to honor those lives lost at any point during pregnancy, stillbirth, SIDS and the passing of a newborn.
The Alachua County Perinatal Mental Health Coalition started a local Annual Memorial in October 2015 to recognize and support parents who have endured this loss; raise awareness in our community and provide a place for remembrance of those lives gone too soon.
